About the Conference

Dear Partners,

Thank you for being a part of the inaugural Indochina Aviation Conference 2017 (IAC 2017).

The conference convened close to 150 aviation professionals and government officials from 8 countries with the goal of understanding what opportunities the Indochina aviation markets have to offer. We had the honour of having His Excellency Akhom Termpittayapaisith, Minister of Transport, Thailand officiate the opening of the conference with the ministerial address on the Opening Day, sharing his insights on the country’s aviation sector. Dr Nitinai Sirismatthakarn, President, Airports of Thailand welcomed all delegates to Bangkok, as he showed the way forward through the success stories of AOT as well as his vision for airport development in Thailand. This was followed by the Keynote Panel Discussion between Dr Chula Sukmanop, Director General, Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT), as well as key aviation experts on one of the hottest and yet most challenging aviation topic – the development and impact of the ASEAN Single Aviation Market.

The conference started off with interesting discussions on the pre-conference day - where technology, design and data formed the basis of these discussions, propounding best practices on how to utilise technology, design and big data to better airport management and operations. Throughout the 2 days, attendees heard expert advice, presentations and case studies on capitalising of opportunities as well as overcoming challenges and how to fully develop the potential of Indochina aviation. The lively exchanges between the aviation experts as well as the participants point to strong interest and a hunger for knowledge about the opportunities offered in the fast growing Indochina aviation space.

As a strategic conference for the aviation sector here, and an event fully supported by both the Airports of Thailand and the Airlines Operators Committee, IAC 2017 proves to be a good learning and networking platform between the local Thai as well as Asian aviation stakeholders.

The conference welcomed some very senior key officials and VIP delegation including the Deputy Minister of Transport, President of AEROTHAI, Director General of CAAT, Director General of Department of Airports, President, Vice Chairman, Board of Directors and Senior Executives of AOT  as well as heads of department from key airlines and airports in Thailand and the region – organisations like Air Asia, Bangkok Airways, Cathay Pacific Airways, Emirates, Garuda Indonesia, IATA, Jeju Air, Jetstar, Lao Airlines, Lufthansa, Myanmar Airways, Myanmar National Airlines, NokScoot, Thai AirAsia, Thai Airways, Thai Vietjet, VINCI Airports, Yangon Aerodrome Company and more. The conference saw abundant networking opportunities – both choreographed, as well as spontaneous stints – throughout the course of the 2 days.

As you look through this post event report, we urge you to use this as a measure of our effectiveness in helping you reach your target audience in this regional sector. Referring to the attendee analysis, media coverage and pictures of the event, we hope you will be convinced that we are your ideal partner in your continual expansion into Indochina in the 2018 edition of IAC. We would like to thank our sponsors and partners for your support in making this event a success and look forward to being the mainstay event in the Indochina aviation landscape.

Thank you, and see you next year!

Yours sincerely,
